Nintendo Pins Recalled for Lead

Video games have never been proven to rot your mind, but there’s no telling what damages lapel pins distributed by Nintendo of America Inc. could pose.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission and the popular video game maker have recalled about 71,000 character themed lapel pins because they violate the federal lead standards.
Neither the company or the CPSC have received any reports of injuries due to this product defect. The pins have images depicting 12 popular video game characters: Diddy Kong, Donkey Kong, Kirby, Mario, Mario Kart, Pikachu, Princess Peach, Samus, Starfox, Waluigi and Wario. Those pins were sold individually. Mario, Princess Peach and Samus were sold as a set.
The pins were sold at Nintendo stores in Redmond, Wash., and New York, N.Y. between April 2004 and November 2007 for between $1.50 and $4. The pins were also distributed to employees at electronics and games stores nationwide during that time.
The pins were manufactured in China. Consumers can return the pins to Nintendo and receive a replacement pin.
